Curious about the name of this blog? “Foglio” is Italian for “leaf” — as in a leaf of paper, not a plant. There’s more on where the nickname came from here.

BIO (100 words)
Leif Utne is a technologist, journalist, musician, and entrepreneur. By day, he helps worldchanging organizations increase their impact through effective storytelling and engagement strategies. As co-owner of Cross Cultural Journeys, he manages this socially-conscious travel company’s digital strategy and leads tours to Cuba, Iceland, and elsewhere. Leif has led marketing and sales for a variety of software and media startups and spent eight years as online editor at Utne Reader magazine. By moonlight, Leif can be found playing music, rock climbing, facilitating conferences, or driving his son to soccer. He lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington. His super power: jazz flute.
